The body is made from EN AW 6012 T6 duralumin and uses dual sealing consisting of a sealing collar and an O-ring. The collar and large rubber impact pad form a single piece that promotes a proper seal between the cylinder head and cylinder while cushioning the mechanical impact of a flat piston head. The duralumin body features a uniform electroless nickel-plated layer that, according to the manufacturer, reaches a hardness of 660–850 HV (58–63 HRC), increases wear and corrosion resistance and creates a smooth surface for nozzle movement. In a comparison with a standard air seal system using an M120 spring, the manufacturer measured an approximate muzzle velocity increase of 6 m/s. However, the actual difference depends on the air seal and configuration of the complete air seal system.
