First layer of the Reddot is Polycarbonat. Brightness adjust itself to the soroundings. It is basically always on, but "shuts off" means nothings visible in complete darkness. It has batteries, but those have really minor Energy consumption. Current ones are in for 6 Months and still work great. Has a triangle dot.
