The unique replica is still fully functional and everything has been checked and works perfectly,
Airsoft: In 2012, a Hong Kong airsoft company, Ares Airsoft, decided to make a replica of the CTAR 21.
They made a really beautiful Tavor with a MARS RDS integrated into the rifle.
Unfortunately I was only able to obtain the Tar 21, which has the stamp of authenticity and serial number.
- The ARES also has a tactical rail on the right side, at the front, which allows for the optional attachment of a flashlight or laser box, for example.
- Of course, the Hop-up of the ARES is just fine, stays in position, and requires no attention.
- The flash hider, as well as several other parts (the selector switch, and I believe even the trigger) are metal on the ARES, plastic on the S&T. Both work perfectly, though.
- The ARES, as mentioned earlier, is manufactured under license from IWI. On the S&T, you might still see a few screws here and there where they shouldn't be, but that's not the case on the ARES.
- Both have a spring release. That's the button you use to close the hop-up chamber.
The ARES, it must be said, is truly value for money. At Ehobby Asia, this AEG retails for $ 390 , excluding shipping, etc.
So you can expect to pay € 450 for it. In Zaventem, Belgium, it sells for around € 500 unsold.
Since this is now considered a collector's item, you will have to open your wallet for this one, they are highly sought after among collectors of this caliber, and last year 2023 one was sold for € 700 .
