Hi-cap, mid-cap, low-cap or real-cap?

A hi-cap magazine holds 300 or more BBs in a hopper and feeds them with a wind-up wheel; it rattles, needs winding and is the budget choice for beginners and support roles. Mid-caps hold 100 to 160 BBs under a spring, feed silently and reliably and are what most players carry once they own a speedloader. Low-caps and real-caps hold the real-steel count of 30 rounds for milsim events with ammo limits. Drum and box magazines carry 1,500 or more BBs for support guns, and shotgun shells feed shotguns with 30 BBs each.

Gas magazines for pistols and GBBRs

A gas blowback magazine stores the green gas or the CO2 capsule as well as the BBs, so it is the most expensive magazine type and the one you most want a spare of. Buy the magazine made for your pistol platform, since valves and feed lips differ between brands even on the same Glock or Hi-Capa design, and keep the seals oiled with silicone oil. CO2 magazines fit CO2 pistols only.

Compatibility

Use the platform and propulsion filters to match your gun: most M4 AEG magazines interchange between brands, AK and G36 magazines mostly do, and pistol magazines rarely do. Magnesium and aluminium shells weigh less in your pouches. Magazines are unrestricted and ship at any age.
