Flashlights and weapon lights
A tactical flashlight on your rifle or pistol lights a room, dazzles an opponent and identifies friends in a dark corridor. Weapon lights clamp to a Picatinny rail or an M-LOK slot and are operated by a tail switch or a remote pressure pad on the handguard; pistol lights sit on the frame rail and fit in a holster cut for them. Lumens decide brightness, but beam shape matters as much: a wide flood for buildings, a tighter spot for woodland. Most sites set limits on strobe use and on lights pointed at the face from close range.
Lasers and PEQ boxes
A visible red or green laser on a pistol or SMG puts the dot where the BB goes and speeds up snap shooting. On a rifle, a PEQ-style box combines a laser, a light and often a battery compartment for the AEG, which is why it is the classic choice for an M4 handguard. Laser power in Europe is limited to class 2 for consumer devices, and all lasers in this category meet it. Use the beam colour and mount filters to match your setup.
Batteries and mounting
Most lights run on CR123A or rechargeable 18650 cells; check the product and keep spares with your batteries. Mount a light where your thumb finds the switch without changing grip, and fit a grip with an integrated switch if your handguard is short. Lights and lasers are unrestricted gear.
