Swapping gear
You are free to trade items with another user, but a swap without money cannot be covered by buyer protection: a payment request always needs an amount and a listing. If you want the protection anyway, you have two options:
- Both sides use a payment request. Both of you create a listing for your item and send each other a payment request for the value of that item. Each of you pays, ships, and releases the amount after receiving the other's item. The money flows both ways, so both of you are protected. You each pay the buyer protection fee once.
- Only the difference is paid. Is one item worth more? Then the person who pays extra can do so through a payment request on the more expensive listing (minimum amount € 15). Only that amount is protected, not the swapped items.
Swapping without a payment request? Then only trade with users who have a complete profile and good reviews, keep all agreements in the chat, and preferably hand over the items in person.
Paying outside Airsoft Bazaar
You are free to agree on another payment method, such as a bank transfer or cash on pickup. Please note:
- Without a payment request there is no buyer protection. We cannot hold the money, cannot refund it and cannot mediate. Read Problems with a purchase made without buyer protection.
- Significantly more fraud takes place through "friends and family" payments and direct transfers. Does a seller refuse buyer protection but want to ship? Take that as a warning sign.
- Pickup in person is the safest alternative: inspect the item and pay on the spot.
Can I switch buyer protection or payment requests off?
No. Payment requests are available in every chat about a listing and cannot be switched off per account. You are not obliged to use them: as a seller you can decline a proposal from a buyer and, as a buyer, you can simply not pay a request. Both of you then agree on another method in the chat. Did a chat start from a profile instead of a listing? Then no payment request is possible. Ask the other user to send a message from the listing.
