Every European country regulates airsoft guns in its own way: who may buy one, how much muzzle energy is allowed, whether a membership or marking is required and how you may transport a replica. Below is a practical overview for the countries we ship to most. It explains what we check at checkout and what you need to know before you order.
This overview is informative and is not legal advice. Laws change and local rules may apply. When in doubt, check with your national airsoft association or the authorities before you order. You are responsible for lawful possession, transport and use in your country.
Netherlands
- Law: Wet wapens en munitie (WWM). Airsoft replicas are exempt from the weapons ban only for members of an approved association.
- Membership: a valid NABV or ACA membership is required to buy, own and transport a replica. Aspirant members may not own a replica yet.
- Age: 18 years or older.
- Energy: maximum 3.5 joule at the muzzle under the association rules.
- Transport: in a closed case or bag, only between home, the field and the shop.
Belgium
- Law: Wapenwet of 2006. Airsoft replicas are freely available to adults.
- Age: 18 years or older. We may ask for proof of age.
- Transport: out of sight, in a bag or case. Some municipalities have local rules on carrying replicas in public.
Germany
- Law: Waffengesetz (WaffG). Replicas between 0.5 and 7.5 joule are free to buy for adults if they carry the F mark (F in a pentagon).
- Age: 18 years or older. We deliver replicas with an Ident-Check: the courier checks your ID on delivery.
- Energy: 0.5 to 7.5 joule. Replicas up to 0.5 joule count as toys.
- Full auto: fully automatic fire is not allowed above 0.5 joule. We only ship semi-only or F-marked replicas with full auto blocked to Germany.
- Transport: unloaded and not ready to fire, in a closed container.
France
- Law: décret 99-240. Replicas between 0.08 and 2 joule are not weapons but may not be sold to minors.
- Age: 18 years or older.
- Energy: above 2 joule a replica counts as a category D weapon with its own rules; we do not ship those to France.
- Transport: in a closed bag or case, never visible in public.
Spain
- Law: Real Decreto 137/1993 (Reglamento de Armas). Airsoft replicas fall under the 4th category.
- Age: 18 years or older.
- Energy: in practice up to 3.5 joule at fields; check your field's rules.
- Registration: a tarjeta de armas from your municipality may be required for 4th category items; ask your town hall.
- Transport: in a case, unloaded, separate from BBs.
Italy
- Law: replicas are considered recreational devices, not weapons, as long as the muzzle energy does not exceed 1 joule.
- Marking: a red tip on the muzzle is mandatory.
- Age: we sell to 18 years or older.
- Transport: in a closed bag or case, never visible in public.
Poland
- Law: Ustawa o broni i amunicji. ASG replicas below 17 joule are not considered weapons and need no permit.
- Age: there is no legal age limit; Airsoft Bazaar sells replicas to 18 years or older as shop policy.
- Transport: in a bag or case, not visible in public.
United Kingdom
- Law: Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 (VCRA). Realistic imitation firearms (RIFs) may only be sold to buyers with a defence, usually a UKARA registration obtained through a skirmish site.
- Two-tone: without a defence you can buy a two-tone replica (mostly bright colour).
- Age: 18 years or older.
- Energy: 1.3 joule for fully automatic replicas, 2.5 joule for semi-only.
- Customs: after Brexit, import VAT and duties apply on delivery; see shipping countries and rates.
Switzerland
- Law: Waffengesetz. Airsoft replicas count as weapons; importing one requires an import permit from fedpol.
- Age: 18 years or older.
- Ordering: arrange the fedpol permit before you order and e-mail it to us; without it we cannot ship a replica to Switzerland.
Everywhere: play and carry responsibly
Whatever the law says, treat a replica like a real firearm in public: carry it in a closed case, never show it on the street, only use it at approved fields and keep eye protection on. Parts such as gearboxes, barrels and magazines are not regulated, but gas and batteries have their own transport rules. What we check at checkout is explained in buying replicas.
